Kiah Park Offers So Much!

2019-09-06T19:59:52+10:00

I love coming to camp at Kiah Park. You learn so much about horses and make so many friends! The horses are lovely, and the staff are extremely friendly. You get your own horse for a week to ride, take care of and love. You get trail rides, arena lessons and a gymkhana! Kiah Park is a home away since I also work there. I would recommend it to any horse-crazy child to definitely come to camp! – Savannah, 17 years

Horse Riding for Everyone

2019-09-06T18:59:55+10:00

I haven’t been coming to Kiah Park for very long, but I’m already in love with the place! The people, the horses and even the food are all amazing. I had such a good time every minute of being at Kiah. The riding is so great, as there are horses to suit every riding ability; and no one is ever excluded or left behind in the trails, lessons or games. The staff help make the program run smoothly, and I’ll definitely be back for more! – Layla, 16 years

Kiah Park Horse Riding is Amazing

2019-09-06T16:26:30+10:00

Although it’s probably said a lot, Kiah Park is absolutely amazing. Each day is filled with so many fun activities, and the riding there is fantastic. You make life-long friends and meet some amazing people. Whether coming for the day or staying the entire week, it can be seen just how amazing Kiah is. The food, activities and riding are all run flawlessly; and the Supervisors who run them are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I have been coming for ten years, and I definitely plan on another ten. – Natascha, 15 years

Horse riding Camp

2019-09-06T16:26:51+10:00

Blog by Lucy and Kathryn (Camp Kids on 7 – 14 July 2012)

Our experience at Kiah Park Horse Riding Camp has been fantastic.  Even though it rained we still fitted in at least an hour and a half ride in the morning and afternoon.  We both had brilliant horses, Kathryn rode Sahara and thought she was amazing and is excited to compete in the gymkhana.  Lucy rode a multitude of wonderful horses however she is riding Gilbert for the gymkhana.  There is nothing not to like about Kiah Park Horse Riding Camp.  The food is amazing and the Supervisors are great.  We had lots of fun doing Survivor, which is a bunch of activities that test your strength and ability.  Kiah Park is definately a fabulous place to be 🙂

2019-09-06T16:27:19+10:00

This is week 3 of our Winter horse riding camps at Kiah Park.   What a wonderful, fun time we are having with children from all over Queensland. Despite the wet weather on the Sunshine Coast at the moment we are still horse riding and doing fun activities – just getting a little muddy at the moment!  We will update soon with feedback from our camp kids.

Riding Ability

2019-09-06T18:25:48+10:00

With the summer horse riding camps starting in December we have had a few questions about which riding ability category your child fits into when you are completing the registration form. We hope this very basic outline is helpful.

NEVER RIDDEN – Total beginners.  May have been on a pony lead but have never ridden independently.
BEGINNER – Little experience with horses.  This rider knows how to ask the horse to move forward, turn and stop and can mount and walk off unassisted.
NOVICE – Basic experience with horses. A novice rider is able to rise to the trot.
INTERMEDIATE – The intermediate rider has taken lessons.  Their seat is secure and they can canter.
ADVANCED – Advanced riders have several years intense riding instruction.  They have competed successfully in recognised shows and are able to ride most horses.

Horse Riding at Kiah Park

2019-09-06T19:56:43+10:00

Here at Kiah Park, we love engaging school-aged children in the fresh excitement of spending time outdoors. We offer seven-day camps during the school holidays as well as shorter camps over long weekends throughout the year. For those who just want to come and spend a great day out, we also run Day Trips on specified days throughout the holidays. We focus on horse-riding, taking the children on trail rides twice a day through our stunning, hilly acreage. The children also learn to care for their horses and have opportunity to feed and enjoy all our friendly farm animals. We follow an active and busy schedule to provide the children with a great range of outdoor fun, including challenge team activities, camp fires with damper roasting and a fun gymkhana at the climax of the week. You don’t need any previous horse-riding experience to enjoy a wonderful time at Kiah Park, as lessons are incorporated into our program for new riders.
